Tell us about yourself?

I am an interactive developer for Dreamworld Studios which means I get to take all of our pretty designs and "make 'em dance, Sonny-Jim". Also, I apparently have been assigned to make the coffee in the morning and razz Bob whenever possible.
Outside of work I like to spend quality time with my "sweet peas", watch and play sports, and generally carouse my way through life.

What's your background?

I'm not ashamed to say I've been a computer geek since I was in diapers (high school). I've been working in graphic and web design/development for 10+ years and have been known to hang around with my good friend database on occasion

What inspires you?

I'll tell you what inspires me...pez! Seriously, who doesn't like pez?

What's it like working at DWS?

Working with the DWS crew is kind of like being one of the SuperFriends. We all have these great talents and work together on cool projects. And we all make fun of Aquaman(Steve).

Has this job affected your skills?

I love learning new things and I believe that this industry is all about staying ahead of the curve. DWS has helped me get back up to speed and focus on new and exciting technologies.

Why is your job so interesting?

I'd have to say it's because we have such a variety of projects that we're working on, not to mention our own site and in-house projects. For example, I get to research new ideas and come up with original applications that we can then apply to projects. This is a great place to be creative!

What personal and work characteristics are important to have with your job?

I think the ability to compromise and work as a team is very important in any creative situation. At DWS, there are so many ideas (most of them good) flying around that we sometimes have to decide what to go with and what to set aside. I also think that quick reflexes are helpful for answering GoogleTalk calls.

What's the best thing about working at DWS?

My favorite part about working at DWS is the banter. Everyone gets along and enjoys working together, so I get to use that positive energy to fuel my rampaging insults. Bonus points when I make someone cry. (Sorry about that, Ron)

What is a typical work day like for you?

Well, I usually slip in the side door so Kurt doesn't see me, then I just stare at my computer screen and space out for about an hour...Actually, I'm in early so I can get some real work done before the herd arrives. I usually spend about half my time on research and planning and the other half on actual programming and development. This doesn't include my daily Bow-Flex training.

How important is it to be multi-skilled, for example to know the programming as well as the design?

I think it is very important to extend your own skill-set and be fluent in development and design. I think the best work in this field tends to have a great balance between form and functionality. Personally, I like to be well-versed in a lot of areas because it helps me work better in the team environment.

What are your future goals?

I really want to push my skills to the limit and do some cutting-edge work. I am excited about where Dreamworld Studios is heading and I want to be a factor in our (inevitable) expansion.

What's your dream project?

For a few years, I have been a closet video game designer and I would love to start the DWS Game Division.
First game - Assassin's Creed: Kill Steve Vol. II
Second Game - Visit to Candy Mountain
(More Titles To Be Announced)
