Tell us about yourself?

I am the lead graphic designer for DreamWorld Studios. I provide the look and feel for print, web, and interactive media that comes out of our house. Every now and then I dip my fingers into some video work as well.

I have a great girl of almost 3 years now, and we actually had secret crushes on each other in high school! I'm overly obsessed with progressive space rock, our pets (or any animal for than matter), having the latest-and-greatest technology and laughing so hard that my face turns purple.

Does my voice sound familiar?

What's your background?

I have been in the industry for 8 years. Abstract print, interface design and DVD development is where my seeds are planted.

What inspires you?

A 23 minute epic song from Pink Floyd, gazing into H.R Giger's Alien or Necronomicon series, hearing Maryjo laugh, watching my dog trying to be human, or just surfing the web. There hasn't been a day where I haven't been inspired by something!

What's it like working at DWS?

A party! The environment here is something that everyone wishes for. Believe me, it is possible to love your job.

Has this job affected your skills?

I learn something new every day. A great benefit of this industry is that there are always advances in the tools that we use,so naturally, our skills advance at the same time.

Why is your job so interesting?

Being a creative person and worker, its essential that I can jump around to and from jobs throughout the day. Just the fact that I work on multiple projects a day is interesting.

What personal and work characteristics are important to have with your job?

Having a child like imagination and being a problem solver. Our job is to solve your problem, but we need to present you with best solution, that takes a lot of creative brainstorming. You might be a little scared if we presented you with everything we thought of...

What’s the best thing about working at DWS?

The environment! Like I stated earlier, its party here everyday! We have such a relaxed, casual setting. Its just a nice comfortable place to be, and I get my daily dose of laughing every day.

Just recently we won a Davey Award for the Collins College website we produced. I feel honord to be a part of an award winning design team!

What's a typical work day like for you?

Hmm. Get a cup of coffee when I walk in, check email, start working with what ever was left in Photoshop the day before, and then pick on Steve the rest of the day.

How important is it to be multi-skilled, for example to know the programming as well as the design?

Its essential! Everyone here knows a little of everything, which is a huge benefit! When I design something that needs to be sent over for coding or programming, I know how it should be setup, cut up, or managed. This just makes everyone work better and faster!

What are your future goals?

I want Dreamworld to grow as big as possible, the bigger we are the bigger the projects we can produce. If we build it, they will come.

I'd like to give as many dogs the best life they will ever have, and to one day, meet Dolby again.

What's your dream project?

Design and develop a website for any of Steven Wilsons music projects.
