Tell us about yourself?

I am currently an assistant designer/developer, roughly translated, I am learning everything I can from the other guys while doing anything they will let me get my hands on.

I got married on October 13, 2007 to the best girl I have ever met.  No seriously, she is way too good for me.  Music is a huge part of my life.  I am big into bands like Jack’s Mannequin and Angels and Airwaves.  I have been learning to play the guitar for oh, 9 years now… and I still can only play Time of Your Life by Green Day.  There is something else I am forgetting… oh yeah I am a huge World of Warcraft nerd, RawrBomb FTW!

What's your background?

I am currently going to school for design and this is my first job in the field… so excited!

What inspires you?

I am inspired by anything that catches my eye.  I feel inspiration is much harder to come by when you are looking for it.

What's it like working at DWS?

This really is the best experience I have ever had at a job, and I worked at DQ for 9 months.  The guys here are so awesome.  I am excited to come to work everyday.

Has this job affected your skills?

What skills?  No really, I am learning so much about the field everyday thanks to all the guys around willing to throw me any tidbits of information.  I have never learned so much in my life!

Why is your job so interesting?

Because you learn something new EVERYDAY!  From little tips about Photoshop to learning a whole new form of CSS, there is always new stuff to learn.  Not to mention the diversity of projects we have to work on.  You are never bored!

What personal and work characteristics are important to have with your job?

It is important to be flexible in this job.  I have noticed that things are very fluid here and stuff is always changing.  You got to keep up or get out of the way.

What's the best thing about working at DWS?

The people hands down!  This group has taken me in like I have been here for years; I mean they only pointed at me and laughed for like 6 hours my first day… what more could a guy ask for?

What is a typical work day like for you?

Well I make sure to get in early so I don’t miss Ron’s morning burritos, that is something I can’t miss.  Then I spend all day working on anything they will let me do.  Anything from archiving and organizing to actually working on a site.  Then I always go home with a smile on my face.

How important is it to be multi-skilled, for example to know the programming as well as the design?

I think it is very important.  I love to design layouts in Photoshop, but I have also just discovered that I really enjoy CSS coding.  With a firm understanding of how website coding works, I feel like I will get better at design.  I feel that using as many tools as possible will only get me further in this business.

What are your future goals?

Well my life goal is to start an emu ranch in southern Chile, but as far as my goals in the design field… to get better each day.  As I mentioned before I have never had such a good time at work before, DreamWorld Studios is an amazing place.  My goal is to be such an asset to DWS that they will beg me to stay! :D

What's your dream project?

My dream project… I don’t know yet!  I am so new to this field that I don’t know what I am capable of yet.  If I have to answer, I guess my dream project right now is to design a website that the client loves, and to see as much of that project through that I can.  I can’t wait for that first time I get to look at a website and say “I designed that.”  It is going to be a great day!
