Tell us about yourself?

I am the new kid at DWS, specializing in interactive design and development while enduring the hazing.

What's your background?

I am a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Stout with a degree in graphic design. I have spent several years working for companies such as UnitedHealth Group and Polaris Industries developing print and interactive media and am excited to now be a part of the team at DreamWorld.

What inspires you?

Life, family, friends, music, art – you name it. Every experience can bring inspiration.

What's it like working at DWS?

DWS gives me balance between creating amazing work while keeping up to date with exactly how badly Kurt will demolish and emasculate Zack playing Halo 3.

Has this job affected your skills?

Definitely! Having access to a video production studio fifteen feet from my desk allows me fewer limitations and the resources to create awesome work. Being surrounded by so many talented, creative individuals keeps me energized and inspired.

Why is your job so interesting?

I get to mix work with play – everyday.

What personal and work characteristics are important to have with your job?

Delivering innovative solutions while remaining time conscious is always a challenge. It is important to keep ones technical skills polished and updated so more time can be put toward solving problems.

What's the best thing about working at DWS?

The people. Everyone possesses an energy and excitement for being a part of DWS.

What's a typical work day like for you?

Have you ever seen a four year old make a grown man cry? Every morning brings a new and unpredictable challenge getting my son to preschool. I caffeinate while driving to work listening to Swedish metal and spend the rest of my day designing, developing and bursting out laughing at the random social commentary from my coworkers.

How important is it to be multi-skilled, for example to know the programming as well as the design?

Being an interactive designer/developer, I need to have a working knowledge of all the current technologies necessary to bring my designs to life – it’s truly exhausting.

What are your future goals?

To grow with DWS as a creative thinker, designer, developer and to be able to touch my ear with my elbow.

What's your dream project?

One without compile time errors.
