Tell us about yourself?

I am the I am the Interactive Development Supervisor for DreamWorld Studios which means I run around making sure all the projects in my area are running smoothly while at the same time meeting with clients to listen to their needs.

What's your background?

I've been working in the design and development of print and interactive projects since 1989.

What inspires you?

Everything does. Even driving to work can be inspiring with the right music and Grande Mocha!

What's it like working at DWS?

It's the best experience ever. Everyone from the owners of the company to the clients have a great time here. Everyday we create quality work and have a lot of fun!

Has this job affected your skills?

Tremendously! Mostly because of the great team environment we have here. All of us work together which brings out the best in all of us.

Why is your job so interesting?

If I had to say it one word it would be “variety”. Our client base is so diverse which means one day you'll be working on a website for a charity organization or publishing company and the next you will be producing a branding and marketing concept for an insurance company. Everyday is different!

What personal and work characteristics are important to have with your job?

Solving problems! My main job is to not only solve my client's problems but to also assist everyone on my team in creating the most successful solutions.

What's the best thing about working at DWS?

The environment! I look forward to going to work everyday to spend time with a talented bunch of people.

What is a typical work day like for you?

My typical day is like a gumbo. E-mails, phone calls, meetings, project management, goal tracking, budgeting, research, pranks, copywriting, answering questions, more meetings, more emails, more R&D, with a dash of design and conceptualizing thrown in for good measure.

How important is it to be multi-skilled, for example to know the programming as well as the design?

In order for me to manage a group of designers and programmers I need to have a certain understanding of what their jobs entail in order to give them the best support I can. At the same time I expect them to be team players bring solutions that make us all look good.

What are your future goals?

To show everyone that DreamWorld Studios is a force to be reckoned with! Being a hybrid (video & interactive) shop we can produce any multimedia project from the ground up and I want our clients and future clients to know that we are always striving to produce the most creative work to help them communicate their thoughts and products.

What's your dream project?

I would like to see us produce a large multimedia marketing campaign that encompasses nearly every communication tool available today from social media marketing and destination websites to traditional print and broadcast advertising. Wait… we are already doing those things! I guess then I'd like to see us produce a real working Johnny Five from the movie Short Circuit to stroll around the office giving us encouraging commentary about how great we are and continue to explain that he was truly, in fact, alive.
