Tell us about yourself?

Well, I’m a Sioux Falls, SD kid for life. I’m pretty much the youngest guy at DWS. I love hanging out and laughing at the most random things. I come from a very large family…I have 6 brothers, 3 sisters. Told you it was big. I constantly get ask, “How tall are you?” or “Can you reach that for me?”…maybe because I’m 6 foot 6. I’m a gamer at heart, I pretty much play anything on any system…but mostly Halo 3.

What's your background?

Hmm, my background. Well I just graduated from Brown College in April for TV production, so I would have to say that I don’t have a very extensive background yet but, being at DWS has got me more experience than I could ever imagine. Life is a game and it’s all about getting that XP (getting gold is also important).

What inspires you?

My family, friends (SDC), YouTube, and Video games.

What's it like working at DWS?

Amazing, best job I have ever had! Every day is different but always entertaining!

Has this job affected your skills?

Like I said I’m new to the game. So by no means am I an expert, but surrounding myself at DWS with people who have more experience helps me get skills that I didn’t learn or know at school.

Why is your job so interesting?

Because it’s not repetitive and everyone here is super creative. Walking in everyday and seeing Steve making a new spot in After Effects and saying to him, “Wow that looks cool, how did you do that?” Then having him explain it is probably the most interesting part for me.

What personal and work characteristics are important to have with your job?

First of all you have to have a sense of humor. Secondly you have to be able to take constructive criticism, don’t think your ever better than anyone else.

What's the best thing about working at DWS?

The environment, everyone here is so chill and funny. The constant cracking jokes while working is the best part hands down.

What is a typical work day like for you?

Well, I generally come in at least 15 minutes late, ahh…I use the side door, that way Lumbergh can’t see me, and ahh…after that I just sorta space out for an hour…ahaha Office Space!

No really though, I walk in with my 44oz fountain soda and say “What up?” to everyone. Then sit down, check my email, then I remember the funny YouTube video I saw the night before and send it to everyone. Then get to work make new spots or doing retags and versioning.

How important is it to be multi-skilled, for example to know the programming as well as the design?

It is very important, the more you know the better. I’m still developing my skills because a lot of things are new to me. But surrounding myself with people that have more experience with things helps me to understand both sides of the spectrum.

What are your future goals?

I just want to continue learn and grow with DWS. Since I started, every day I have been getting a little more involved with projects. I want to one day be the guy that gets ask, “Wow, how did you do that?” I want to show people my tricks with video production.

What's your dream project?

One day I want to have a large part in a major motion picture editing or compositing. Then I want go to a theater, and see it playing and know that I helped make that. Also I gotta see my name in the credits! Woot Woot!
